The latest version of the PortableApps Platform has been released, bringing with it a host of exciting new features and improvements. This update marks another significant milestone in the evolution of the platform, which is now available for both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.

One of the key highlights of this release is improved support for macOS, thanks to the introduction of our new macOS Helper app. This feature allows users to enjoy a seamless experience on their Mac devices, with full details available in the Platform changelog.

In addition to this, version 26.2 includes a range of fixes and quality-of-life improvements designed to enhance the overall user experience. These include improved UNC support for unmapped drives, faster app installation and uninstallation, and better symlink handling within apps' base paths. Other notable features in this release include NixOS detection and font matching, as well as an update to 7-Zip used for backup and restore tasks. This version also adds support for custom command-line parameters sent to non-PA.c Format apps via an INI file.

Furthermore, existing Platform users can automatically update by clicking on the 'Help' menu and selecting 'Check for Updates.' This release also introduces the ability to exit anyway when automatically closing apps if you wish to keep one running.
